Prof. Mark Wm Dubin

Professor Mark Wm. Dubin is a faculty member in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO, USA, where he has taught since 1971. He has served as Department Chair, and also as Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. He received a B.A. in Biophysics from Amherst College (Amherst , MA) in 1964, and a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD) in 1969. He was a Fellow at the John Curtin School for Medical Research at the Australian National University (Canberra) from 1969-1971. Professor Dubin carried out research on the vertebrate retina and on the development of the vertebrate visual system, resulting in numerous publications. He is also the author of the recent book, “How The Brain Works” (http://dubinweb.com/). Prof. Dubin currently is studying the use of Immersive Virtual Environments in cognitive rehabilitation and also as a scientific visualization tool, at the University of Colorado, BP Visualization Center (http://wwww.bpviscenter.com).
