From 1978 V.N. Zaporozhan is the Head of the first in Ukraine
Cryosurgical Centre for Treatment of Precancerous Conditions in
Gynecology.
In 1983 he organized the first in the country Department in Immune
Diagnostics and Immune Correction in Gynecology which became the
leading one in the former USSR.
In 1989 V.N. Zaporozhan founded the first in the country medical
centre which worked as a private non-commercial Centre of Family
Health. At present it is the leading centre which is involved
in the international project “Health Reforms” dealing
with problems of insurance and family medicine in Ukraine.
Professor V.N. Zaporozhan founded the Centre of Endoscopic Laser
Surgery in Odessa. He is the President of Republic Association
of Endoscopic Non-invasive and Laser Surgery.
V.N. Zaporozhan worked out the problems of diagnostics of hyperplasic
processes and benign tumours in women by using endoscope techniques
and study of the main regulatory organism systems (immune, haemostatic,
endocrine, and enzyme). They allowed not only to determine pathogenetic
mechanisms of these conditions but also to find possibilities
to develop the organ-saving technologies of treatment of women
of reproductive age.
V.N. Zaporozhan is the leader in working out the treatment of
precancerous conditions by combining cryosurgical methods with
hormone, immune-modeling therapy and physical factors.
His concept of positive effect of the physical factors on improving
the general health in different pathologies in obstetrics and
gynecology is of great theoretical value.
He was the first to ground theoretically and prove experimentally
the possibility of using the electromagnetic field of millimeter
diapason in treatment the processes which are accompanied by disturbances
of neuroimmune and hormonal relations.
In the field of obstetrics, prof. V.N. Zaporozhan pays special
attention to working out modern methods of treatment of combined
gestosis in pregnancy, the course of pregnancy in diabetes mellitus,
prevention and treatment of inflammatory postnatal complications.
He also studies the possibility of using non-medicamentous methods,
i.e. intravascular laser and ultra-violet radiation of the blood,
electromagnetic field of millimeter diapason, hyper oxygenation
of the blood. For the first time there was investigated the state
of the regulatory systems of the organism - the immune, endocrine,
protease-inhibitory, haemostatic, oxygenation of the blood and
their interrelations in the normal and abnormal course of pregnancy.
V.N. Zaporozhan is a founder and leader of the scientific school
well-known in our country and abroad. He was the scientific advisor
of ten doctorates and 48 theses for Ph.D. At present time 4 doctorate
theses are being prepared.
