Claudio Mencacci

Born on December 15, 1953 in Sinalunga (Siena).
Graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan in 1978. Specialized in Psychiatry at the University of Milan in 1982. Senior Consultant at the Psychiatric Unit No. 34, Santa Maria delle Stelle Hospital, Melzo, Melegnano Hospital Administration, Milan, from 1995 to 1999. He was later appointed Director of the Department of Mental Health, Melegnano Hospital Administration. (1998 - 1999)
From November 1999 he was Senior Consultant of the Psychiatric Unit No. 55 and Director of the Department of Mental Health, Fatebenefratelli-Oftalmico Hospital Administration, Milan. Contracted Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Milan, and at the School of Specialization in Psychiatry, University of Perugia, from 1995.
Chairman and speaker at many national and international conferences. Member of the scientific and organizational secretariats of many international, national and regional congresses and conferences. National coordinator of refresher courses organised by the Italian Society of Psychiatry and of courses and research projects organised by the P. Varenna foundation. National coordinator of many refresher courses centring on general medicine, psychiatry and geriatrics and organised by the Italian Society of Neuropsychopharmacology.
National coordinator of many refresher courses organised by the Italian Society of Psychiatry. Author of over 250 scientific publications and editor of 16 published books. The Italian Society of Psychiatry's Executive Publishing Advisor and Director of the following scientific reviews: 1) Quaderni Italiani di Psichiatria, Bollettino Scientifico e di Informazione published by Masson and, 2) "Directions in Psychiatry" published by CSE, Turin. Director of the Italian Society of Neuropsychopharmacology's official review "Facts, News and Views". Vice President of the Italian Society of Psychiatry. President of the National Coordinating Committee for Psychiatric diagnosis and care services. Member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Society of Psychiatry and of the Italian Society for Psychosocial Rehabilitation's Lombardy Sections. Member of the Italian Society of Neuropsychopharmacology and of the Italian Society of Forensic Psychiatry's Board of Directors. Vice President of the Idea Foundation. Director of the Research Centre for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Depression and Anxiety, Fatebenefratelli Hospital Administration, Milan, in collaboration with the Idea Foundation.
Member of the National Observatory for Mental Health, the Ministry of Health. (2001-2003) Expert specialist for the Superior Health Council. Member of the National Committee for Mental Health in 2004.

Giancarlo Cerveri

orn in Milan the 21st of June 1970, he received a full Medicine degree in 1995 at the Faculty of "Medicina e Chirurgia of the "Università degli Studi di Milano".
In the year 2001 he obtained Educational Qualification in Psychiatry at the "Scuola di Specializzazione in Psichiatria" of the "Università degli Studi di Milano".
On November 2001 he begun a collaboration as psychiatric consultant in a residential treatment center in Milan "CIMA", here, he was responsible for the management of pharmacological and medical aspects of patients therapy.
On April 2002 he begun a collaboration as psychiatric consultant for the "Azienda Sanitaria Locale" of Varese, here, he re-asesses the position of patients already into psychiatric residential structures and evaluate the admittance of new patients.
In the year 2003 he has been awarded a research fellowship to study the "clinical and pharmacological predictive factors of the clinical responce to atipical antipsychotic of schizophrenic patients resistant to pharmacological treatment" at the "Clinica Psichiatrica dell'Ospedale Maggiore di Milano - Istituto di Ricovero e Cura a Carattere Scientifico di Diritto Pubblico".
Since September 2003 he is a Psychiatrist at the "Azienda Ospedaliera Fatebenefratelli e Oftalmico" in Milan.
He is author to over 30 publications on scientific journals.
